Hello!
I live in Georgia and have my Georgia Weapons Carry License.
I'm coming to Colorado for a little over six months for a seasonal job. It is in Steamboat Springs.
I realize we have reciprocity and want to make sure I'm doing things right.
I want to conceal carry for the most part around town and work. But open carry when fly fishing and camping.
If I get into an interaction with law enforcement, is your state a "must notify" state?
Any big things I need to know?
There is not must notify law immediately upon contact but you must carry your ccw license and an ID and produce those documents upon request from LE. Although there is not a must notify law, from an LE perspective it is always much appreciated if you do notify regardless.
Colorado does not have any must notify laws. Here’s a link to a website that has good info on the laws in Colorado regarding carrying in parks or restaurants. https://www.gunstocarry.com/gun-laws-state/colorado-gun-laws/#co-laws2
